Europa has just started its “Feel Pride 2011″ campaign, together with the celebrations of Maspalomas Gay Pride (Gran Canaria). The aim is to receive LGTB visitors to our shops with the warmest welcome, offering the exclusive “Tom Of Finland” fragance and also special discounts in other popular brands within this community.

But the starring role in this campaign is played by the eau de parfum for men called “Tom Of Finland“, an exclusive launch of Europa for the Canary Islands. “Tom Of Finland” is an instantaneously recognizable name for most gay people. It’s a niche fragrance with a very select distribution (just three points of sale in Spain, for example). The scent itself starts with surprising notes of leather and metal, but it sweetens later on. The product is inspired by the work of Tom Of Finland, the most influential homo-erotic artist in the 20th century, and a very important figure in the original Gay Pride. Tom Of Finland was the creator of most icons and fetishes that come to our mind when, nowadays, we think in the archaeotypical masculine gay man. His comic books and illustrations decorate from thousands of gay bars to the halls of New York’s Museum Of Modern Art. His original pieces reach astronomical prices in auctions, and most reproductions and compilation art books are considered cult, collectible products. 2011 will see the 20th anniversary of Tom’s death. With this launch, Europa wishes to revive his free and immortal spirit.
